"Thus the priest
shall make atonement for him,
and he shall be clean."
The LORD speaking to Moses on the ritual cleansing of lepers in Leviticus 14:20
Leprosy symbolizes sin in our lives.
Jesus is our great High Priest who goes outside the camp to bear our sins on the Cross.
'If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.'
1 John 1:9
So we don't just say "Forgive me Jesus"
"forgive and cleanse me Jesus."
